2019 Posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award Anya Krugovoy Silver

Anya Krugovoy Silver is the author of The Ninety-Third Name of God, I Watched You Disappear, From Nothing, and Second Bloom. Her poems have appeared in dozens of publications, including The Southern Poetry Review, Anglican Theological Review, New Ohio Review, Witness, and Bellevue Literary Magazine. She won a Georgia Author of the Year Award for Poetry in 2015 and was named a Guggenheim Fellow in 2018. Silver’s poetry explores themes of illness, identity, and mortality. Her work offers “unswerving candor about living under the threat of imminent death, her love for her son and husband, and the parallel world of advanced cancer” (The New York Times).
